I offer a Black Bear Rifle spot-and-stalk hunt in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, on public land. This is a physically demanding hunt that will take you to amazing scenery in the rocky mountains. The area has very high black bear density, and excellent habitat, however a shooting opportunity can never be guaranteed. Estimated hunting success over 5 days is ~50%. This area of Colorado has black, cinnamon, brown and blonde color phase bears. Only males and non-mating females without cub may be taken. Mature black bears in this area weigh between 100 to 150 kilos, and have beautiful thick fur. Must be in great physical shape and used to high altitude backpack hunting - meat and trophies must be carried back on foot. Backpacks can weigh up to 50kilos and can be carried up to 3-5 kilometers. Depending on preferences, some nights may be camping and some in lodging. There are many opportunities to fly-fish in excellent free-stone mountain streams, and hunt Yellow-Bellied Marmot if the bear hunt is successful early.
